An ancient enemy returns to subjugate their world, and a risky plan develops in order to save everyone! How much will it cost them?

A young boy vows to defeat the last remaining Zarkvalg, a dangerous monster of legend. He travels the world seeking it.
The Tower of Naglash is set near the middle of the history of Feyndome. At this time, the various tribes of feyns have experienced the Golden Age of Peace that followed the defeat of Larsh, a Renia who was defeated by Varendile Chlant at the Battle of the Valley of Thunder. However, before his death, Larsh laid a curse on the house of Chlant. As the years pass, each descendant of that house dies mysterious or awful deaths. Soon there is no one left of who can claim to be from Varendile's line.
Hundreds of years later, rumors start to rise from the southern parts of Feyndome stating that Larsh is not dead as they believed him to be, but had actually returned! That he was conquering the southern regions, heading to the North! As feyns hear these rumors, some believe it. Others laugh it off and say that it is merely an attempt to cause terror and unrest. Those who believe it are in despair because they recall a prophesy that states a descendant of Chlant will slay Larsh. With the House of Chlant gone, who will defeat Larsh? Who will fulfill prophecy and save Feyndome from the grasp of a cruel tyrant!
Elberteeth from The Tower of Naglash
In fifth grade, I was given a writing assignment that ended up being the seed of what would become The Tower of Naglash. The writing assignment described a woman listening in on a conversation between a cruel sounding man and a sniveling servant. The situation intrigued me. Why was she there? Who was that man? What was the purpose of her spying on the conversation? It was too much so I ended up redoing the assignment completely so that I could save that sheet of paper for a future story. I let it sit for almost a year as I tried to finish a child's story about my stuffed animals and a world they lived in. That one is yet unfinished.
However, the mystery of the woman and her purpose did not leave my mind. I imagined a world with winged beings able to control aspects of nature. They were struggling to defeat a tyrant who was conquering and subduing their world. The woman was sent to spy or perhaps find a way to defeat him. The story began to take on structure and flesh as I delved more into what was happening.
Eventually, I did my first draft which was only a couple pages long. It was too childish for me because I saw the story as more mature than my usual stories. I ended up setting it aside for a time when I could create that more full tone that I desired. My second draft was a bit better, but this time the storyline was not satisfactory. Then my third draft developed. The tone was better, the storyline was more mature, and I found myself a lot more pleased with it. I wrote the story in many notebooks and typed it into my computer afterwards. By 2016, shortly before my graduation from highschool, I finally wrote "The End" on one of the pages of my last notebook. It was a very satisfying feeling to have accomplished the feat of writing out 400+ pages on Open Office.
My dream is to see this book (and maybe more) read and enjoyed by many throughout the world!
The feyns were created by Lightness (their creator) and given powers over various aspects of nature. They have the form of humans; however, their skeletal and muscle structures are built more to adapt for the addition of wings. Their wing color tends to correspond with the powers that they inherited. The powers they inherit are based off of those of their parents, but the child can only inherit one of their powers (or "gifts" as the feyns call them).
Aging is varying among the feyns: some who are several hundred years old still look like they never aged past their twenties in our years while some who are barely fifty look like grizzled seniors. Much of that depends though on factors like stress, lifestyle, and big events that they experienced.
There are five basic powers among the feyns:
Each have more specialized aspects: among the light feyns, there is a rare group who are more drawn to moonlight than sunlight. For water, there are also some who are solely ocean feyns whose strength is drawn from the ocean itself. Unfortunately when creating the feyns, I forgot to add earth feyns who can manipulate the ground (Plant feyns can to an extent through the use of root systems.). This forgotten trait though will eventually develop in a feyn named Torgund who was the orphaned son of a warlock and adopted by the dwarves.
In general, the feyns are very tribal and are very spread out. Each tribe has their own traits and practices. The best known are the Sunset Islanders, Chileans, and The Three Hills region.
When speaking about the Renia, they are not feyns. They are immortals who can take the form of feyns or whatever else they choose. However, they tend to take the form of the winged beings: the people they were assigned to guard and teach. Only they typically are taller, grander, and more aweing than a normal feyn! Their powers are drawn from Lightness, and frequently it is called "magic" instead of "gifts" delineating it from the feyns. Unlike the feyns, the Renia are not limited in what they can do; however, if they are in the form of a feyn, they will mimic their specific powers. Additionally, they can read minds, transmit their thoughts to others, and do much more.
Only a Renia can be killed by another, unless something they did has compromised this. In this manner, they are only considered immortal by the feyns themselves. There are very few, if any, cases where there has been a Renia who has compromised himself in this way. Those who have been compromised, eventually meet their demise at the hands of those not of their kind.
The Renia fall into two separate groups, depending on whom they have plead allegiance to. Unlike the feyns who have the ability to choose, once a Renia has decided on the path he will follow, he cannot turn from it no matter how he might feel (if they even have regrets like the feyns). The two groups among the Renia are:
